2026 began with global tensions, but we've seen victories through prayer! The court ruled against the Emergencies Act and Bill C-9 is postponed. Psalm 29 reminds us to fix our eyes on God amidst chaos - His voice thunders over the waters, and He rides on the calamity. Stay focused on worship, not worry, as God works in Canada's future.

So, here we are the first week of February and if you've been taking inventory since the beginning of 2026, there's been a whole lot going on, right? We started the year with Venezuela and then we heard a little bit about Greenland and how about new world order and China deal and 100% tariffs if we don't smarten up and there's all these other things that are just out there and uh and could cause a lot of concern and it cause a lot of ringing of hands. But there have been some really great things that happened. The for example the appellet court saying that the that the emergency act was uh was illegal. What they did uh during the convoy was illegal and that was ratified. It's good
news, you know. And uh what else was it? C9. C9 just yesterday was put on the shelf. It's not we're not through this yet, but it's put on the shelf. They're not moving through. And those you don't know what C9 about, sign C9 was about potentially making the scriptures um hate speech. So that was a good thing. Thank you to all you who reached out to your MPs and made phone calls and made conversations and did those things. That is so good because that's what's really help engagements. We have tools in our toolbox that we can do. And those of you that we're praying, even though the world is swirling, even though there are things that make us anxious, God is on the move. He is sovereign and
he has a plan for Canada. I want to read some something that has been really um come to the forefront in our last three weeks of Tuesday morning prayer. And that's come from Psalm 29. And this is where the God of glory thunders. And it's been a posture. Like we even started the year off with a posture of ascribing to the Lord, of worshiping the Lord, focusing on our on the Lord. Our eyes are fixed on him. So I just want to read some some portions just a little bit here from from Psalm 29 because I think it's a great posture to carry us through the year because so far just through the first month of of 20 rather 2026 we have seen a lot of up and down and and all over the place and you can
come out of rest if you are you can have your soul come out of rest if you're not fixed on the word. I wanted to encourage you to stay focused on the Lord. Stay focused because in the midst of the turmoil, God is doing some great things. And if you're focused only on the on the turmoil, you're going to miss the great things and you're not going to be able to give thanksgiving for it because your hands will be ringing and you'll be so upset. So, I want to encourage you. Don't be like, let me read this. Read this. It's really, really awesome. Ascribe to the Lord, oh mighty ones. Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name. This is worship. Worship. Focus
all adoration, all eyes on him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. You can have that every day. You don't have to go someplace. You can have the splendor of the Lord. You can worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness right where you are. If your eyes are fixed on him, if you tune your heart to him, if you're listening for him, you can have it. The voice of the Lord is over the waters. This waters, you know, when when when God created the earth, he he he was hovering and brooding over the waters. And they said that was chaos. That was calamity, right? And even in the chaos that we are living in just the month of January 2026, the voice of the Lord is over
that. He hovers over that. The voice of the Lord is over the water. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty waters. He rides on the calamity. He's not freaking out. He's not freaking out about all this stuff. Whether we have big tariffs or spyw wear or all these other things, we're going to keep our eyes on the Lord. We're going to press in and we're going to do what he says, right? We're going to do what he says and do what he's doing. Jesus said this. I only do what I see the father doing and I only say what he's saying. So when we are ascribing to the Lord, when we are gazing upon the beautiness of the Lord, this is where we know what to do, when to do it, what to
say, because we're in that place. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. And when we are there, we are looking to him. We're not freaking out. We're looking at this. I want to read a little bit more. The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars. Breaks the cedars into pieces in Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf. Syrian like a wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes and flashes of lightning. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert of Shadesh. The voice of the Lord twists the oak and strips the forest bare. and his temple cry glory. I just want to encourage you focus on
the Lord. Here we are at the beginning of the year still, you know, one one tenth one 12th of it has already gone by and you know it may get bumpy. We may have a bumpy year. It may be awesome. But we're going to doesn't matter. We are going to focus on the Lord. We're going to be listening to him. We're going to be watching for him. And we're going to be agreeing with him when he says things and when he does things. I tell you, there's some great things happening all across our nation. And this is a time for us to give thanks to the Lord for he is good. To enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise, to be careful, be be carrying this mindful um mindful posture of
keeping our eyes on the Lord because he's doing great things. I'm Chris Byberg, the director of the National House of Prayer. And if you like this video, please subscribe and like because it sends us down the algorithm in a much better way. Thanks very much. We'll see you next time. Bye for now.
