“Politics Isn’t the Real Fight”

This message challenges believers to see beyond political systems

Transcript

So here we are the first weekend in February and a lot has happened already throughout this year. In fact, last weekend was a conservative convention where they ratified their leader Pierre Polyv with an astounding 87% plus. And uh there were many policies that were voted on. Um some policies that make us kind of cringe in regards to um abortion, in regards to medical assistance and dying, in regards to um gender identity with our children. Uh there were a lot of things that really went the wrong way and we're hearing all kinds of things about it and people are upset. What I want to say about this, some trust in chariots, some in horses, some in political parties, some in

leaders, some in platforms, some in policies, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Let me read you something from uh uh Psalms 144. This is one of my favorite Psalms. I really love this as a worship leader. I love this as a prayer guy. I love this as an intercessor. I love this as a as a prayer warrior. I love this. Let me read it to you because it's so good. And hopefully it'll give you some perspective on how we're carrying things. Don't be all bummed out about what happened on the week weekend. God is way bigger. For anything, we saw the state of the nation. We saw the the heart of the Conservative Party. That's what we actually got to see, right? If

you really want to know, and everybody's all excited about this, that, and this, that, I'm gonna just say to you, if God has called you there, you stay there. Don't run away to other places because you need to be salt and light in those places. If God called you the liberals, you stay there because God has called you there and you need to be salt and light. If he's called you to the block, stay there because he's called you to be salt and light. If he's called you to the Greens or the or the People's Party or the the NDP, stay there and be salt and light. This is the thing. The kingdom has to be everywhere. Thy might thy kingdom come. Thy bill will be done

in the conservatives as in heaven. But wait, there's more. Thy will be done on and the liberals as in heaven, right? Same thing. Same thing. But let me go back to this because I'm having too much fun here today. Blessed be the Lord God, my rock, who trains my hand for war and my fingers for battle. He is He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge. He subdues peoples under me. And listen to this. So, so God says here, I want to train your hands and fingers for battles. So, you know, they use swords, they use bows and stuff like there. But we're going to go down a little bit farther further down into the chapter and see what

happens in here. I just love this. This is this. Bow your he bow your heavens, oh Lord, and come down. Touch the mountains so that they smoke. Flash forth the lightning and scatter them. Send your arrows and route them. Are you seeing this connection? You're seeing our hands, fingers, fingers to pluck bows. But who sends the arrows? It's the Lord. It's the Lord that sends the arrows. We do the war warfare. We do the We do the the intercession. We come into agreeing agreement because we don't wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. So these fingers were saying, "God, let me pull the fingers. Let me pull the bow with you. Let me pull that bow with you.

And that's what he wants. He wants us to partner with him so he can route the enemy. So he can scatter the enemy. And then there's more. I just love this thing. And all of a sudden at the very end of the chapter, it it h it comes up to this. Anyway, here we go. I will sing a new song to you, oh God. Upon my tin stringed harp, I will play for you and play to you. So here we start the beginning of the chapter. It talks about fingers, right? And bows. And we're thinking, you're thinking like, oh, he says battle, he says war. He says we're going to do this, you do this stuff. And then he says, I'm going to use my arrows. we're gonna partner with him in in in plucking that bow. And then he

says, "You really want to know what it is? It's in the secret place." So David would go into that tent of meeting and he would pull up the 10 stringed instrument and minister to the Lord. And that's where this comes from. So don't get all upset. Don't get all worked up. Don't get all crazy about the things. Yes, they I was kind of bummed out to tell you the truth, you know, and listen to how they're voting. There are ways and we're going to do a podcast on this coming up to discuss ways on how to be effective in every area, especially on the political side because we talk about that. So, blessed be God, my rock, who trains my hands for battle and my fingers for war. It's a partnership with

him, the King of glory, the King of saints. Anyway, I'm Chris Byrick, the director of the National House of Prayer, and we'll see you next time. Bye for now.
