Ottawa: The City of Prayer

hey everybody it's Chris beiberg the director of the national House of Prayer coming to you today from Ottawa well we're approaching the end of of March and actually when we'll be broadcasting this it'll be beginning of Holy Week so so excited about that coming into the Easter season so many great things happening around here in Ottawa just fantastic uh churches getting to they're my local churches is partnering on Good Friday Manatee Community is is going to go on a Prayer walk with Knox a presbyterian up in manitake and that's one of the things we're doing one of the many things we're doing in Ottawa there's a lot of that happening here I want to talk to you today about um

actually I woke up this morning with a particular passage on my brain literally woke up thinking about this and it's the the precursor to to uh Second Chronicles 7 14. everybody knows this if my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their Wicked Ways then I will forgive their sins here for he'll hear from heaven and heal their land and uh and we pray this often but I was thinking about the precursor to that let me read this to you and it was kind of just really resonated with me this morning at the beginning of the chapter chapter 7 verse 1. when Solomon finished praying fire came down from heaven and

consumed the burnt offerings and the sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple the priest could not enter the Temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord failed it when all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord saying he is good and his love endures forever good he is good and his love endures forever so some great things have been happening Across the Nation in prayer we've been sharing often times and one of the things that has been really resonating with me it's uh it comes from one of my friends

here in Ottawa Isaac gimba Pastor Isaac leads uh a prayer a prayer initiative pastors and dishes they actually meet for prayer he meets with prayer with pastors every day three times a day and I find that astounding to build relationships to care a whole John 17 thing of of of being one as Jesus and the father is one so Pastor Isaac actually shared this with us and and it really resonated me with me um it was this phrase Ottawa the city of Prayer can you imagine that isn't that outrageous Ottawa the city of Prayer and we're starting to see this you know I'm so grateful for the prayer initiatives here in Ottawa pray Ottawa which comes out of one-way Ministry you

know Pastor Isaac out of meeting Point Ministries at andhop so many other houses of prayer that are here the local church engaging in the biggest way you know he's speaking with denominationals more traditional denominationals denominations looking for God to move to unstop the wells of their denomination the free methodists the Presbyterians it's just amazing I was on a Prayer meeting on on Sunday night at a Presbyterian church and their hearts cry was for for Revival I'm so grateful for what God is doing but Ottawa the city of prayer can you imagine what about your city what about Fort St John the city of Prayer what about Yorkton Saskatchewan the city of Prayer

what about Bathurst New Brunswick the city of Prayer can you see this you know we're starting to see this this James 3 wisdom that comes from Heaven starting to roll out and that has to do with a lot of yielding us yielding and this yielding to the Holy Spirit and yielding to one another and laying down our Ministries and laying down our flags to raise up the banner of Jesus Christ so as we come into holy weeks Sunday's Palm Sunday let's raise up I know where many of us are going to have palm branches and we're going to be waving those it's going to be awesome but let's raise up take down our banners and raise up the banner of the Lord Jesus of Christ all across this nation

in every congregation in every in every city can you imagine your city being a city of Prayer so let's pray that father Lord we your heart is that every man and woman would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth and Lord when we pray those and we see that outrageousness in your heart that you oh God you think so big Lord we lift up our cities not just our local churches but our cities that we would raise up in prayer in our cities Lord that and I'm so grateful God for for the stories I'm hearing all across the nation where pastors and churches are not just meeting individual congregations but they're joining together and they're joining all across

the land prayer streams are merging with prayer streams it doesn't matter what the denomination the charismatics are merging with the evangelicals and Catholics and God you're doing such an amazing work and we're so grateful so Lord speak to us Lord on how we can make our cities of Prayer in Jesus name amen well thank you everybody also one little commercial here on the and ignite we are doing four events this uh this spring check out our website if you haven't ottawa's on April the 14th we are cutting off registration on the 31st so this will you'll probably miss it but that is just about full for the leaders we we set aside room for 200 leaders and that is just about full at this point so
