Last week I was [music] meditating on 2 Thessalonians chapter 3. This particular passage starts off at the very beginning of chapter 3 as an apostolic prayer. And we've often prayed this and especially in our Tuesday morning prayer calls that the word of the Lord would run swiftly and be glorified. And the story there where the Apostle Paul came in very rapidly into Thessalonica and established a work very very quickly. And I just want to read this chap- this portion to you because it's really really significant for today. Especially in terms I was I was in a meeting just the other day and and somebody was, you know, really concerned about the state of Canada and you know, and and
government overreach and would we have to leave to go to the United States and that kind of got into my spirit and I just wanted to encourage them that the word of the Lord does run swiftly and is glorified. And even though even if we ever come to the point of being in chains for preaching the gospel, the word of the Lord the word of God is not in chains. But I want to read this to you because this is so so important. And it's important for us to stay in this place of perseverance, the place of faithfulness, the place of just staying on the wall. And that's why I'm talking to you. I appreciate you guys so much cuz you are there, you're staying there. But let's read this. Finally, brothers,
pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored. That's the point of the prayer movement. I just want to say this. It's not just for us to get stuff from God, but it's that the message of the gospel would run swiftly or spread rapidly and be glorified. That's the main part. The main part is that the knowledge of the glory of the Lord covers the earth like the waters cover the sea. Right? That covers our hearts like the waters cover the sea. And we continue. That the word may spread rapidly and be honored just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. And sometimes we see this. I see this. Give us this day
our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. So, this is the prayer. If Lord protect us, deliver us from anything evil. Lord, keep us safe so we can preach your gospel. Let me go on. Evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful. Remember this. The Lord is faithful. And he will strengthen and protect you. Don't you just love this? Preach the gospel. The Lord is faithful. He will strengthen you and he will protect you. Fear not for I have redeemed you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will comfort you and I will up I will help you and I will
uphold you with my righteous right hand. He will protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the do the things we command. I have confidence in the Lord that you will continue to pray. That you will continue to preach. That you will continue to share the light of the gospel, the truth of the gospel. I I have confidence in this. May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and listen to this. And Christ's perseverance. Isn't this a powerful little portion here in 2 Thessalonians? It's powerful. Direct us into the love of God that we would pour out the love of God of God and we stay in the place of perseverance.
They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength. You will run and not even get tired. How do you like that? You will walk and not faint. So, I want to encourage you today. Pray that the word of the Lord runs swiftly in your neighborhood. That it runs swiftly in your workplace. That it runs swiftly in your local church, on your street, in your town, in the region, and be glorified. Because we want to see the knowledge of the glory of the Lord cover wherever you live like the waters cover the sea. Stay faithful. God will protect you. He is with you. I want to encourage you to keep going. My name is Chris Byrnes, the director of the National House of
Prayer. And we'll see you next time. Bye for now.
