Responding to the claim that "hope is not a plan," this post explores the difference between political reliance and biblical hope. Discover why true hope is active, expectant, and firmly rooted in the Lord and the transforming power of Jesus, rather than human leaders.

This past week we were in Montreal preaching at our House of David. It was been a great time. I want to build more prayer stuff in Montreal, but we were also subsequently at the same time the Liberal Party convention was happening in Montreal and we actually stayed in a hotel that was full of people that were attending that that that convention. And you know, we when I got home I was listening to excerpts from the convention cuz see it's important that we become engaged and if you want to pray strategically you have to be informed. I was listening to the Prime Minister's speech. And he said this in his in his speech and I that kind of caught my attention.
And it's he said this that hope is not a plan. He actually said that. Hope is not a plan. Well, I want to say this and I'm not talking about politically and I know that that people were going to say hope is not a plan although President Obama ran on that as hope and change. But anyway, my hope's not in the government. My hope's not in any particular leader. I like politicians. I just had lunch with one just a few minutes ago. I mean I like them, but my hope doesn't lie there. My hope isn't in there. My hope is in the Lord. I said this last week. Some trust in chariots, some in horses, some in political parties, some in prime ministers and some in leaders of the opposition. We
will trust in the Lord the name of the Lord our God and that's where my hope is. My hope is in this. My hope is in the gospel. My hope is in the power of the blood. My hope is in the resurrection power of Christ. That's where my hope lies. My hope lies in the life changing transforming power of Jesus. That's where my hope lies and that's where it has been and that's where I'm standing. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest name but wholly lean on Jesus name. That's where my hope is. I want to raise read to you something here that in a prayer meeting we had this past Tuesday. It was a great prayer meeting.
We were focused on hope. Let me read this. Like listen to this. The God the gospel Marilyn wrote this. She said the gospel is not stuck. The gospel is not blocked nor is it delayed. And that's where we live. The word the word of God is living and active. The word of God when we preach the word it is living and active and it's sharper than any two edged two edged sword. It cuts between soul-ishness and spirit and we live in the spirit. We walk in the spirit. And so when a leader says you have no hope that sounds just like the enemy and I'm not saying that the government that the Prime Minister's from the enemy, but I'm just saying that if they say there is no hope that's a
scheme of the enemy. There is no hope. There is no God. There is nothing. No, my hope is in the Lord. It's all about him. Listen to this. Hope is not wishful thinking. It's active. It's expectant. It's in alignment with the purposes and the plans of God. Romans 15:5 may the God who grants endurance and encouragement together bring you that are together one with one another. We from can proclaim and praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. And better yet we go to Romans 15:13. May the God of hope fill us all with hope and joy empowered by the Holy Spirit that we overflow with hope. We overflow with hope. Everywhere you go hope splashes out of you. Out of your innermost being will
flow rivers of living water. Those are water of hope. That is water of hope that you become like my friend Barry Maracle says you become hope dealers. We are people that pour out hope everywhere and this is a scheme of the enemy that he wants to keep you out of hope. He wants you to be in despair. He wants you to give up. They that wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Those that hope in the Lord they will he will renew your strength. He will renew your strength so that you will run and not be weary, walk and not faint. So that you will run and not give up. I'm Chris Byberg the director of the National House of Prayer. We'll see you next time. Bye for now.
